Changing The World One Friendship At A Time

Simple activities like attending school, going out to dinner and making friends can be challenging for many children with special needs. The Friendship Foundation makes those activities easier by providing school clubs, birthday socials, and a variety of other programs throughout the year in a socially integrated environment.

Children with special needs, just like all children, thrive in safe, accepting and engaging surroundings. By pairing a student volunteer with a child with special needs to participate in fun activities together, we encourage students to socialize, build friendships and be more accepting.

Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk

October 27, 2019
This awe-inspiring event brings together communities for one common purpose; to support education and children with special needs.

"I adore the Friendship Foundation because of the connection my children receive from the volunteers. They feel included instead of ostracized which is important in our lives. Knowing how much they look forward to the activities that the Friendship Foundation provides keeps me uplifted in spirit!"
Cherrone Davis, Parent
"When I started volunteering four and a half years ago I was a shy, quiet and nervous kid. With the helpful tips from other volunteers combined with the participants' special spark and energy, I slowly came out of my shell. I learned to make new friends and felt so good inside when I was able to make others happy. Their smiles motivate me to keep coming back again and again. Through the friendly and positive environment, I've grown into a more mature, responsible and aware person. I love being a volunteer at the Friendship Foundation."
